As people become more and more busy, they are looking for ways to be more productive with their time. There are turning toward energy drinks, energy shots, and energy tablets as an alternative to coffee. These alternatives come with a list of benefits. These benefits are the reason for the endless growth of the energy drink industry.

One of the major benefits that people seek is increased energy. This is the most obvious benefit that energy drinks provide. When these products are in liquid form the body rapidly absorbs them. This goes along with the benefit of decreased fatigue. They have the ability to stimulate the body and refresh the mind. This makes energy drinks a good choice for those who have missed sleep but still need to perform well. You are able to perform better with an increase in concentration. Energy drinks increase concentration by providing large doses of B vitamins.

Not only is mental performance improved, but physical performance is improved as well. The majority of users of energy drinks are teenagers and young adults. Of this group, a good amount of them are athletes or spend time working out. Athletes seek energy drinks as a source of supplementation. Because many energy drinks provide vitamins, minerals, and herbs to enhance a healthy diet.

Energy drinks also provide benefits following a night of drinking. Energy drinks can help the symptoms of a hang over by waking you up, clearing your mind, and getting you going. They also have the benefit of convenience. You can find some energy drinks that come in powdered form that can simply be added to water.

Many of the athletes who use energy drinks add them as a way to gain a competitive advantage over competition. The majority of young adults who use energy drinks use them as help when putting in long hours at the office. Not only can extra hours require an energy boost, but also the next day will require you to get energy because of the extra hours. As energy drinks are becoming more popular, they are also becoming nourishing. Some more healthy products are sugar free and low-calorie.

Traveling long distances can seriously take it right out of you. It’s tiresome, particularly when you’re going from one side of the world, to another in less than 18 hours. It’s possible with today’s technology, but the human machine has yet to catch up to our technology, and our internal clocks get muddled up by the time changes. This is why when you land at your final destination you need an energy shot, or an energy drink.

It can be tough moving from place to place as commonly as some business men do today, and then have to give presentations and the works once they get to their affirmed destinations. It really is exhausting, and can take the life right out of you. This is why energy drinks have become more and more chic, because people need a good way to stay awake, and sometimes coffee just doesn’t do the trick anymore. Coffee really isn’t all that good for you either, especially when you put sugar in it. Talk about diabetes in ten years.

Honestly, while caffeine is a diuretic, it also can give you the shakes after a while. Once you get used to the caffeine in coffee, it then requires more and more coffee to do the trick. Over the course of time coffee stops keeping you alert, your body becomes used to the caffeine, and you no longer drink it to keep you focused, you drink it because you have to. It can be just as addicting to you as cigarettes are. So if you don’t like things that you can get addicted to, it’s probably for the best that you don’t drink coffee frequently.

In fact many a business man keeps a excellent amount of energy drinks in his luggage just in case he / she can’t get any at the final destination. The energy drink market has expanded tremendously over the course of the past decade, and there are many different forms of energy drinks that are available to you at your local convenience store of course. There are a variety of different energy boost options for you to chose from, anything from Red Bull, to Monster and the list goes on and on.

The energy drink industry is expanding more and more, and new items such as 5hour energy drink have come out, and now K-Pax energy tablets that are packed full of vitamin C, and B12 which are more natural and healthier ways for you to get energy hastily. As well the energy drinks that do not pack caffeine are more than likely not going to get you addicted like coffee will. It really does make sense if you think about it.

Knowledge is king when it comes to foods and beverages. Do you know what goes into an average energy drink? OK you are one of the educated drinkers, but for those who just drink, an average energy drink contains carbonate water, corn syrup (or other sugars), taurine, man-made vitamins and caffeine. Some have alcohol. I know you can’t think there is much benefit from drinking this or maybe you think it’s not so bad.

Surprise. It’s bad. One of the worst ingredients is high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). This gut-fattening ingredient will insure that the empty calories will add directly to your belly fat. You probably know that HFCS has no nutritional value and is classified as empty calories. You can compare HFCS drinks to drinks with sugars but they both generate a fat belly.

We all believe that most people want to lose fat or maintain their weight. When you have an energy drink with artificial sweeteners, you take in fewer calories right then but later in the day you will crave more to eat and take in more calories than you were saving.

Trying to keep all the diet facts straight but I found a very simple rule regarding artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners and man-made chemicals are BAD for your body. Find whole and natural foods to eat and drink.

Caffeine is one of the ingredients in “Energy Drinks”. Caffeine does stimulate the central nervous system and seems to boost your energy level. In truth, caffeine does not provide any energy to the body, Energy comes from eating nutritious food with calories. Food with carbs, fats, and proteins activate energy production in your body.

If you like the boost that caffeine provides, try a natural source like green or oolong tea. Some people have acquired a taste for yerba mate teas. An added benefit to the teas is the very powerful antioxidants. Avoid the artificially added caffeine or carbonated energy drinks.

If you choose to reduce your caffeine consumption, you may try substituting tea for coffee several times a week. Good teas contain phytochemicals which moderate the release of caffeine. Since the tea generally contains less caffeine and it releases slower, you body does not experience the shock to your nervous system. Tea doesn’t have taurine or alcohol which is a bad combination.

Now what about that so called magical blend of taurine and B-vitamins that they load into these energy drinks? First, the vast majority of those artificially added B-vitamins leave your body without any benefit! Vitamins are best obtained naturally from a REAL food source, not artificially added to some carbonated drink. Your body just doesn’t use fake sources of vitamins and only efficiently digests natural sources of food.

If you want to be healthier and use some of your creativity, try making a delicious, home-made energy drink.

1. Use mixture of green tea, white tea, and yerba mate tea. Make a gallon. Add a little fruit flavor, use 1 tea bag of a raspberry or blueberry hibiscus tea, and then use 2-3 green and/or white tea bags, and 2-3 yerba mate tea bags, and mix with drinking water. I just use a small amount of stevia to lightly sweeten the batch of tea.

2. Search for organic coconut water from a health food store, or buy fresh coconuts to obtain the coconut water from the inside.

3. Mix a half of a glass of the white/green/yerba mate iced tea mixture and fill the rest of the glass with the coconut water.

This is really delicious. A genuinely healthy energy drink instead of the chemical-laden, energy drinks that are mildly toxic.
